    Hello all.
    Ihave been planting broad bean seed in empty toilet roll tubes, which seems to be a good way to protect roots,and re use cardboard, can anybodt sugest other veg that I could do the same with?.

    Any veg that don't appreciate rot disturbance. Parsnips are the usual use for loo rolls as they allow the tap root to develop.

        Actually, just about anything. Doing it that way I can start things off in the greenhouse on days when I can't get out. When the right time comes, I can put them straight onto the plot. I do flower seeds as well. When I have run out of loo rolls, I sit in front of the TV and make paper pots.
