  • Planting onions next to beans

    Hello All
Is it OK to plant spring onion seeds right next to or in front of climbing beans?
I did this last weekend in the hope of detering aphid before reading on a thread that this should not be done
Would I have to dig up the spring onion seeds?
    Thanks in advance!

They say that, but my beans are right next to onions that have been in overwinter and they are both growing well. Not sure where the bean/onion thing comes from originally, so I'm not worried about it.

I put my excess onions in with peas/beans a couple of years ago with no ill effects to either.
A good beginning is half the work.
Praise the young and they will make progress.

In that case I'll let them grow and enjoy whatever comes up!
