Is pig poo any good as manure? There's a farm attached to where I work and I can get my hands on (literally, if needed!) on copious amount of the stuff (raw) - can I use it if I let it rot down first?

Now the cows have been brought inside there'll be plenty of theirs as well - is this any good?

Pig poo is known as a cold manure - it has not got quite the same warmth and properties as cow, sheep or horse. It would still be good in the compost heap.

If you can get cow manure that would be great - again it would need to go on the compost heap to mature a bit.

Used to use dry cow pats to sling at my sheep dog when it wouldn't listen around the sheep! Made good flying saucers!

It's all the stuff dreams are made of Once you've got over the smell and the weeds it generates the results will be miraculous If your not sure of the quality, put it on the compost heap and use it next year. Happy gardening.
