  • Parsnips and raised beds questions

I am currently waiting for my raised beds to arrive It looks like they won't be here until at least the end of the month despite ordering them in feb! Anyway, am I right in thinking parsnips take a while to germinate? Would I be better off planting them in loo rolls to get them going? In which case how do I go about this? Do I plant one seed per roll? Or a sprinkling in each? Also, would they be OK in my unheated greenhouse or should I bring them in at night?
I'm really rather annoyed at the length of time it is taking for my beds to arrive so if anyone else can recommend somewhere to get beds from I'd appreciate it as this is the third delay I've just been informed of. I really want wooden ones and I know it would be cheaper to make my own but my OH isn't around much now for a few more weeks and really doesn't have the time to build me some from scratch. When it comes to me making something like that, well I'm just useless with things like that

I'm not sowing my parsnips until next month as advised on the seed packet. I chit mine first on wet paper towels in the airing cupboard then carefully transplant each germinating seed to an individual loo roll and sprinkle with a little compost to cover. Then they are left in a cold greenhouse until established and ready for planting out.
