Default Newbie Intro

Hi all, not my first post, but it took me a short while to work out where to post an intro, so here goes!!

My name is Suzanne, I'm 38 yrs young (going on 7 mentally), and am new to both the forum and growing your own veg (well, I have grown veg before, but the last time was in my parents back garden many many moons ago! lol!).

I am marrried to a great guy, Lee (dobby on this forum), who has always fancied growing his own, and now that we have finally finished sorting out our home (we moved in 4 years ago, but as the house was a repossession it needed a lot of work) and gotten my front garden sorted out (complete with lots of herbs and 3 fruit trees), it seems that the time to start growing has finally arrived!

We only have a small back garden, but have lifted some of the pavers to create a few beds along the fence (and along the fence down the side of the house too), plus started to make some wooden troughs to grow veg in too and also got a cheap plastic walk in greenhouse (6' by 4'), so are now raring to go! In fact, after someone posted on here about the 25p Wyevale seeds offer Lee rushed out and came back with enough seeds to fill our small area probably 40 times over! lol!

So, knowing how much he wants to make a real go of it growing his own, and how many seeds he has we have been looking at local allotments, which fortunately for us there are 2 sites local, both of which have vacant plots at the moment! Needless to say I think he's decided he wants an allotment along with his pathces in the garden, so we are currently investigating the procedures and likelihood, and with any luck will soon have our own allotment, ready to prepare the soil and beds for spring planting!

Other info? We share our house with our dog, Bella Donna, a Great Dane / Alsatian xbreed we rescued from Manchester Dogs Home earlier this year, and every other weekend we have the pleasant company of my 13 year old teenage daughter!

Anyhows, anyone want to know anything else, please feel free to drop me a line!
