    What is this?

Did some searching on internet and came up with Sawyer's Lavender

BBC - Gardening: Plant Finder - Lavender

but I can't see buds yet so I could be wrong and it may just be a leafy shrub. Think the leaves have a slight fragrance. It is quite overgrown though so I might cut it back a little.

    Thanks!

Looks like a lavender with a ladybird - nice!! If it is be careful of cutting it back too much - don't go into the old dead wood at the base of the stems as it won't resprout from them. Just a short back and sides!!

Yep - a lavender judging by the old flower stem. Just cut it back a little to get a good mounded shape - then think of all the lovely lavender spikes full of bees in the summer!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

You won't have any flower buds yet. Lavender flowers in the summer. If I were you, I would just cut out the dead stuff for now.
