I got Marconi Red a few years ago and could not get them to germinate..Tried the following year too, no success...Sacrificed my youngest, none germinated still
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

I bought a pack this year, sowed loads with about 5 different attempts!! tried damp kitchen roll. Nada nothing.
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

well I'm either amazing or my seeds aren't really Marconi at all - I suspect the latter! This years were sown with an electric propagator but last years were without and I had pretty much 100% germination!

If in doubt Vixy, go with your preferred option, therefore you are amazing!!

I have plenty of seeds left if anyone wants to give them a go? No promises they will germinate though!!

EDIT - just checked and they are long red Marconi - not sure if that makes a difference?

They must really like Leeds Jonny if they'll only germinate up here

My Marconi Red have all (3) germinated, they are all the same size, still small at about an 1.5 inches with their "real" leaves just appearing.

So that makes 100% so far, but I only put 3 in so equally may just have been lucky. Did nothing special or different, just dropped them into a small well in some seed compost - pretty poor seed compost I will add.

Moreveg didn't have a Marconi Purple or else I may have given them a go. As I sort of foolishly just have 3 peppers I have just sown some Nocera Giallo as the older seed I had proved past it.
