OH got round to strimming the lawn yesterday and remarked on several copper-colouredmoths flying out. When I was tidying up today, edging and raking, I saw one too, about an inch scross, coppery colour. Should we be bothered, and do we need to take any action? The moths are free to go but do their larvae eat the grass? I don't like killing things for the sake of it but would a soap solution help?

Are you sure they were moths? Small skipper butterflies are coppery and look quite moth-like

I wouldn't worry too much, moth or butterfly, they may munch a bit of your grass, but that just makes strimming/cutting less bother. They won't kill the grass anyway.Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
