  • Jalapeno and Mini peppers

    Hi guys

    1st time growing jalapeno and mini peppers and i have fruit on them but unsure when they are ready to pick ?.

    Hopefully a kind person with some knowledge will give me some advice?.

      I'm not giving mine the taste test, I don't like them and I've made that mistake just once before, never again. I leave mine on until they are starting to change from the green colour then remove and string up to continue ripening. Yours are lovely BTW FJ, well done!

        you can pick them green and either use them as they are or let ripen on the side, or leave them on the plant to ripen. The jalapenos will go a bit cracky in places. That's a good thing apparently.

          thanks for the input , I took one of the jalapenos off and it tasted just like a green pepper so i guess they aren't near ripe yet

            I use my jalapinos green as a pickle because most of my lot are wimps!
            (edit except my 8 year old who has developed into a chilli-head)
