Do not take to much notice about letting them dry out i cut and plant straight away they always grow i have done it for years..

Two things that can be added to the cut surface to seal it are flowers of sulphur or woodash, but as Jacob says, it's very rarely needed anyway!

When a tattie grows the haulm usually has multiple stems. If they are grown with single stems and for instance get wind damaged or diseased in some way, the crop is lost, whereas with multiple stems it is highly likely a few stems will survive and give you a crop......Just a thought!

Snadger I'm only growing a few in bags so wont bother cutting them I'd hate for my first ones not to grow.
Braders I just never got around to growing potatoes before I usually stick to lettuce carrots, parsnips, runners and toms. So this year its time to branch out a bit by adding pots, and now I've got a greenhouse I can have peppers and cucumbers as well....here to help not to upset people...I didnt think..!!..
