  • how do i get my hose pipe to stay on the tap

I bought a hosepipe yesterday and for some reason it will not stay on the outside tap and i got wet through! It came with 3 tap connectors and i used the size that fit the best, as the other 2 were too big. So is there anything i can use to help the hose stay in place, i look forward to reading all your brilliant advice

Our connection to the tap is usually ok, it's the connection to the longer hose that frequently comes apart and annoys the crap out of me. Sorry, sympathy but not much help.

What type of connectors are you using? Are they a threaded type or just push fit?

If it is a proper outside bib cock, brass with a 3/4" threaded ferrule adaptor. It would be usual these days to remove the ferrule which would require a 'jubilee' clip over the hose pipe and screw on a hozelock type connector with a push fit termination for your hose.

I agree, Potty. That's what I had to do with mine.
