Default Help tomatoes gone pale!

I put my tomatoes out today in the warm sun - they're about 3 inches high - and getting their first proper leaves, but they seem to have gone pale! They're back inside now. Was it too soon?

Too much at one go. Sounds like they've been scorched. If they recover (and they should) put them out in somewhere a bit shady to begin with.

Hello Fran, it seems early for tomatoes to be out - but you are in London. If they haven't been stricken by cold most likely explanation seems they have been scorched - as SBP says. They are only baby plants so try hardening them off more gently. Put them out of direct sun, or protect them with some fleece - it works just as well against direct sun as it does against cold. Good luck.
