  • Help! Blackleg in soil

Hi i came here last week and explained the problem i had with blackleg in my potato crop. I've now lost six out of my twenty potato plants, it's disheartening watching my crop die one by one. I'm wondering sould i just cut my loses and dig the rest up or just leave them and hope it won't spread. Also now that the bacteria is in the soil will i never be able to grow them on this site ever again.
I new i sould have stuck to growing them in co-op wine bottle carriers like last year.
Please someone give me some hope for future potato growing.

It's not something I've come across personally, but there's a bit of info here; Blackleg - its life-cycle and treatment and here; Royal Horticultural Society | Advice Search | Potato blackleg

Having read that link, I would be having a word with your seed potato supplier. Someone else had this problem recently.
Sent from my pc cos I don't have an i-phone.
