| Hi and welcome to the Vine. I'm sure that when the time comes, you will find a lot of good advice on growing your veg (and lots of other things too) right here. Just don't be afraid to join in or to ask questions. We all help each other but don't take life too seriously either. Later............

| Hello and welcome to the vine. My one tip is to buy a big notebook and keep loads of notes as to what you plant, when, how it grew etc. That way you can read it through this time next year and think about any changes you could make to improve on things. Don't forget to have lots of fun experimenting! |

| Welcome to the grapevine. An alternative to the notebook is the blog!

| Yes I have got the magazine.. started with the Feb issue and I think it is very good. Have had a fair bit of rain (and wind).... thought my raspberry canes and blackberry bush would have blown away or drowned but they seem okay.. I have a veg plot in the garden, along with a greenhouse which is currently home to 2 varieties of sweet pepper that I am hoping will germinate in the propogator... and no, you are not nosey at all, just interested. |

| I think it is SO lovely that there's a friendly forum like this one for us all to chat to each other, and exchange thoughts and ideas, and it's really lovely to see so many NEW Grapes this early this year!!! How exciting! I must say, Flummery, you took the words out of my mouth earlier (Clever Flummy!) in that new peeps to the Grapevine can just 'browse' and look at how other Grapes have developed their own plots over time by looking at their BLOGS, and how they have developed from 'knowing diddly sh!t' to 'what I know now' kind of thing. Trousers and I went back to the very start of our own Blog the other day, just to re-acquaint ourselves with how very little WE both knew when we started, and we were so thrilled to arrive back at 'Today', knowing that, every step of the way, we have been helped and inspired by others that have been there before us..... I can't wait to share your journey through this coming year, and very good luck from us both. X

| I was just looking through my old posts and came across this - my first post. Had to laugh at the fact that I described my veg patch as large... it seemed huge at the time, but now that it is full of broccoli, cauliflower, sweetcorn, courgette, onions, shallots, potatoes, mange tout, french beans, parsnips, turnips, beetroots, raspberries & blackberries , it does not seem so spacious - what a difference a few months can make. Have already told my OH that next year I am taking over his raised bed that is currently full of pansies .
