Default Hello

New member here and just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.

I am very new to gardening and toying with the idea of getting an allotment (if there are any plots available at the lottie that is less than 5 mins walk away from my house!) but worried about not finding the time to put the required effort into it.

I found this forum while googling for seed swaps and thought I would register after nosing around as it seemed such a friendly place that tolerates newbies.

The first of many posts hopefully...

Hi Pedro, welcome to the Vine. Not only do we tolerate newbies - we positively welcome them. We're a mixed bunch, but very friendly. Even though you may be new to gardening I'm absolutely sure you will be able to contribute. Sometimes I think the best posts are the ones that get us oldies thinking (maybe by asking what may seem to be simple questions).

Hi, NWPedro and welcome. If you look at the top of each post you'll see that you're not the only newcomer here, there's lots of us, so just 'muck in ' so to speak and enjoy the banter.

Hi there Pedro,

I, like you, am very new to the gardening game but have recently acquired an allotment (after waiting many months). I'm just waiting for the weather down here in S Wales to improve slightly so I can go and get my hands dirty.

This site is brill, really. I've had loads of advice and have been the recipient of some very kinds acts of generosity. Everyone is welcoming and so willing to offer advice and explanantion even when you think the question your asking is somewhat dim.

Keep posting and keep asking. I intend to post regular updates on my lottie (once the weather breaks) and hopefully tappiing into the experiences of all the other gardeners on here.

Best of luck.

CN

Welcome to the Vine. And don't worry about putting the required time in, cos once you have one or two things growing, you'll just wanna do more. You will find the time.
