    Growing Toms and when

    When is the best time to start growing tomato seeds? I have just started (April 16th) with my allotment in my back gardening - so just starting to find out all useful info.

    I have tom seeds that I planted on April 16th they are now growing very well, but i feel i left it a bit late to start - so when is the usual time to start.

    Hi Lousie,
    Bit of an open ended question because it really depends on what equipment you have.

    I dont have much in the way of facilities so I sow indoors at the end of Feb and keep them on the window sill for about 2 months.

    I am sure others peeps will be along to explain how they do it.

      April is fine to sow toms, they soon catch up with the earlier sown ones
