  • Green Manure Plants - Advice

    Morning all,

I am in the process of clearing weeds and dividing up the remaining 2/3s of my plot and to improve the soil I wish to plant some green manure plants as I have heard these can do the job of soil improvement.

I was just wondering which type of green manure plants should I grow and are there any which have an additional value of being edible as well?

    Thank you for your help,

    Samuel

Try looking at Green Manure Seeds or the rhs website. It depends a bit on your soil type.
No idea about eating qualities - never been tempted to have a munch on the ones I've grown.

Well, not really, because to get the best out of a GM, you cut it down before it flowers (or produces beans, as in field beans)
