  • Green Manure Mustard

    Hi All,
I'm very much a novice, so may have a lot of questions over the coming weeks
I have been given a load of green manure mustard seeds. But was wondering if left to flower and seed are the seeds then edible on this variety of mustard or are they used purely for soil improvement ? Thanks in advance.

I'm just wondering why you are intending to eat them, or is it a rhetorical question?

I save my own seed from caliente mustard, and it's a PiTA, tbh. It takes ages to break open all the pods to get at the tiny seed.

My partner has always wanted to make her own mustard grown in the garden. So I was wondering if this was one of the varieties it can be done with or weather they are purely grown and used for soil improvement. Can't seam to find much information anywhere on the Internet about it.

You haven't said what variety you have though? (Latin name?)

On this site Field Beans Green Manure Seeds from Sow Seeds they say the seeds are not fit for human consumption. I would assume that would be true for all green manure seeds.
