Default going nuts!

Help please, I was very pleased with myself for collecting loads of hazel nuts as they fell this year only to have them go very dusty and a bit mouldy in the old drawer i kept them in.

I have now taken them out of the husks and left in sun to dry out,is this right or am i wasting my time?

They should be ok inside once you shell them. Take a dry cloth to them and rub the dust and mold off the shells.
