I've finally got my head round my garden of 95% concrete and decided on a plan of action.

I have a small soil border along the left side of the garden next to the fence which I have planted an apple, cherry and pear tree with gooseberry and blackberry bushes in between. Fruit section complete

I'm now plan on building several 6ft long raised beds on the concrete next to the border (allowing for a path) to use as vegetable beds. I've read they need to be at least 1ft deep for most things but wont be any good for potatoes but I can always grow those in bags.

More importantly now I've found a way to grow more than 3 vegetable plants without 300 containers all over the garden I've ordered a greenhouse

Really excited now...I don't even mind that the growing season is coming to an end because by the time I've put the base down, built the greenhouse and made the raised beds it will be spring!

Congrats on having a plan!! ............and a GH on the way
You could plant strawberries at the foot of your fruit trees or some ground cover herbs to maximise the space

Hayley if you sow winter lettuce such as 'Artic king' or 'all your round' in your GH you'll be able to use it as cut an come again over the winter.
      Location....East Midlands.

Finally got a day off work today so made a start on the new 6x3ft raised beds to go on top of the concrete. Made a start on filling them (I had planned on using top soil and well rotted manure) but its going to take a lot more than I thought. Any suggestions?
