Any know what this is? We brought it from the garden center as a little shoot, we had never heard of it so thought we would give it ago. Its grown very well and its now producing the fruit/veg behind the flowers, on the picture (on the pot) its round like an apple but much bigger. Never heard of it before, be interesting to see what it becomes! x

Hi - i've got one of these plants that was grown from a seed and is now ready to grow in the ground. A friend has told me you need to cut off the growing head/tip, in order for it to become bushy instead of tall. Does anyone know if this is correct? Or should I just plant and leave it to its own devices? Many thanks! OrganicNics x

I am growing these myself, have pulled off about 12 cucumbers from 3 plants and if you leave them to over ripen you can harvest your own seed to grow next yearwhich is what i did last year. I presently have one the size of a melon and is looking like it is about to burst. The taste is superb just wipe off the thorny coating on the outside and eat like an apple, no after taste or repeating on you like you can get with cucumber's. Ideal with kiddies lunch boxes my kids love them. I certainly prefer to grow these than normal cuc's.
