  • Courgettes Again

I have 5 plants, didn't expect them to all take , they are happily growing with lots of leaves, but so far no flowers, should I remove some of the leaves or pinch out the tops ??

They are about 2 foot tall

I've personally never found it necessary to pinch out anything on a courgette grown outdoors ( my GH mistake ones last year did have to be pruned so you could get in the door but they were rather more than 2 foot )
Sounds like you just need to be patient. The flowers will come.
Mine are at various stages too and lots of them have no flowers yet.....but they will!
    What variety are you growing?

Yep same here, I just let mine get on with it, the first few never seem to set and the flowers always seem to come before the fruit, Have just picked my first one this week, but stick with it and i am sure they will start soon !

The packet says "non coureuse des maraichers", which when I translated it, came out as "Not runner of the truck farmers" or "not manhunter of the market-gardeners"

Means it's not a trailing type so there shouldn't be aby need to pinch out at all
The whole sentence means 'non trailing for market gardens'

Ooh la la - I think I prefer the non-running of the truck farmers! I'm with Incy - leave them alone and be patient, you're in for a very pleasant surprise when they start to fruit.

I think being my first year at growing I'm a little impatient for things to pick and eat

That must make things difficult, living where you do. I'm sure you know more than you think

The flowers are big and blowsy Solitaire and the courgettes are right behind them. Here's mine growing in a bed that was last years compost heap.
