  • Courgette question

Hi i have a question regarding my courgettes, they are growing great and very full, i have one that is about 6inch long by aboutinch n half thick only problem is it's still yellow.... could it be when i bought my plants they were yellow ones or do you think it will still go green? im just worried as it looks good and am tempted to pick it, as i've been told yellow ones are just as nice as green ones.....am a novice as its first yr of growing them please help me :-)

If it's yellow and healthy looking it's a yellow variety - any idea of the name. Pick it and enjoy, they're ideal at that size

        Hi Crystalfae,
Yup you've got a yellow courgette plant, its about the right size to cut and eat, there fantastic raw in salads or cooked in stir frys, but beware they come thick and fast ....and welcome to the vine

kool as far as the variaty goes the card i got in the pot just says courgette (very helpful lol ) explains how to look after them but says nothing about variaty.....while im here i have a pepper plant and chilli plant both are in a 8inch pot and have some friut coming, but they have alot of flowers and im wondering if the pots are going to be big enough or will it be ok to pot them into a larger size without spoiling the friut?

            Hi again,
Your chili should be ok, mines in a pot not much bigger than yours, i don't know about your pepper though it's not something i grow, but someone will be along and advise you.. happy growing

It won't spoil the fruit if you put them in bigger pots. But they should be fine in the pots they're in, as long as you can keep up with watering. Give them a feed with some tomato food (follow the instructions on the bottle) and they'll keep on fruiting
