Default contaminated water

i dont know if any of you have seen the news today but i live in northamtonshire and the water in my area is contaminated, i was wondering if it is still usable for my veggies or if there is another alternitive i.e bottled water, any help given will be much appreciated.

Rain water should still be OK, are you collecting that?

i am not collecting rain water, i am going to get a water butt at the weekend though.
