| i got a load of wire mesh cages from some builders the sort that they put rocks in to stop land slippage ....... i lined it with black bin bags and put a cover on it and it's working great. but i've also got a ton bag, which i put the stuff in till i can be bothered to move it to the cage or you could make one from pallets?

| I have a couple of 6 x 6 corrugated iron compost heaps ... once filled I plant them up with beans and/or squash. I love my Dalek too ... I move it to a different bed each year: once it's full I just empty it over that bed and spread the rotted compost around. No need to dig, see.

| there is a big industrial estate behind my house, and zilch ...... though that might have something to do with the fact that theres a flipping big pallet place who buys them ..just up the road ... that won't let you have any for free ![]()

| You can compost all leafy stuff. Roots of perennial weeds like bindweed, couch grass need baking in the sun before you add to your compost. Just spread them out in the sun until brown & crispy (and dead!). Pallets have fairly big gaps between the planks ... it would be a good idea to line the inside of your finished bin with cardboard (boxes) to keep your contents on the inside, not blowing round your garden.
