I think it will be fine, as some people put it on concrete and it still works! I'm planing to move mine onto a layer of bricks soon, hopefully this week if the weather is ok

Oh god, don't worry about layers!
Just bung it all in, so long as it's roughly a 50/50 green to brown mix.

When it starts to warm up, it will rot down quicker. Also wee will rot it faster.

As will turning: but with Daleks, take the whole thing off, don't try and dig out from the silly hatch at the bottom.

Put the Dalek in a new spot, then refill with the unrotted compost - this is turning

Thanx people thats a great help, Just need the neighbours to start talking when they look out thier bedroom window and see me standing a on a chair having a wee in the bin!!!!

It is possible to wee in a container and just tip it in.

Your compost bin is best on soil so worms can get in.
Woman wee is no good it needs to be man wee.
bung it all in and then mix it with a fork.

Any wee is fine ... it is all high in nitrogen, which is the activating ingredient

Worms find there way there anyway, I've got a concrete path and when ever I move something which has been on the ground for a few days, there is loads of worms under it! More than what's in my compost bin, which is on soil

I thought any wee would do for compost - it's the fella-widdle that's needed for fox deterrence - but that's a whole new thread!
