Default cold frame

Hi I have just got a cold frame (very excited obviously!).

I will be putting the toms and peppers in there when they get big enough but is there anything I can do with it now?

I was thinking of sowing some lettuce and leeks to plant out later. Can I put these straight in the cold frame (we are in Cambs and it's a sheltered spot the frame is on, attached to the house) or do they need starting off indoors?

Thanks, janeyo

I have sown some PSB, cabbages, celery and sprout and put them in my homemade coldframe. This is the first year I've had it so I'm not sure what else might go in there just now.

I have broad beans and onion seedlings in mine - and my hardy annual flower seedlings. Oh yes, and peas!

I've sow a gutter of rocket, early nantes carrot and mizuna.

The mizuna is up and really going for it.
