  • campanula eaten by bunnies!

Hi, my friend bought me a campanula as a housewarming gift, and it was flowering nicely, but while I was away on holiday my dear little house rabbits learnt how to climb onto the dining room table, and have munched it all up! The roots still seem to be intact ,and just a little bit of stalk is visible in the soil - is there much chance of it growing back or should I cut my losses now and get a new one? :/
Ta very muchly, rather annoyed bunny mummy! x

You love them really! Campanula do die back in the winter and regrow so unless your little sweeties have taken all the shoots I thin it might well regrow. I would have thought within a week or two you should see signs of life (on the plant, can't comment on the bunnies after this). Don't over water while you wait. Fingers crossed.

Ok, thankyou! There is literally nothing but the ends visible in the soil tho, no shoots are left, and nothing of the stalks either! :/ should I just keep watch and hope and shower it with lots of loving encouragement do you think? (yes, I do talk to my plants!)
and I do love them, and am perversely glad they destroyed this newest plant and not the climber and spider plants I've had for over ten years!

You have nothing to lose by keeping it a while to see if it regrows.
