  • Broad bean (aqua) possible problem

    Afternoon all,

The broad beans I planted about a week ago (not from seed) have some of their leaves which can be described as the tips have became dark black which looks like someone has twisted them at the end (I am going to get a photo of this).

Anyone experienced something which sounds like this? It is on a few of the leaves and not all of them.

    Samuel

    Thanks for your help

p.s will try to follow up with a pick

I think he means he bought the plants.

Ok, then I think the plants were grown indoors, and not hardened off before Samuel planted them outside. We've had a couple of really cold nights: they won't like this if they've spent their whole lives in a warm greenhouse.

The black patches were at the top of the leaf and it appeared the leaf tip was stuck together at the end

Sounds like it was only on the first leaves. I wouldn't worry about it.

They look pretty big to be over wintering... I'd not be surprised if they were blown over, damaged - small plants are much more hardier.
