  • Bareroot strawberries - how to look after them

I had 12 bareroot strawberries delivered yesterday. Unfortunately I'm now not able to get out to plant them until Tuesday. How can I best look after them in the meantime?

The roots were dry so I poured over a wee bit of water but I don't want them getting waterlogged. Would a wee bit of damp sphagnum moss around them help?

Wrap the roots in newspaper, put them in a small amount of water then it can act as a wick.
