  • Bagged manure from wyevales-updated

Further to my original thread and apologies. It is no longer Wyevales (how observant am I!!) but Country Gardens. Found their number and asked them. They had never heard of aminopyralid let alone problems with it but have promised to ring me back. In the meantime they supplied me with the name of the manufacturer and it is Harrington & Jessop. I checked them out on the net and they have been asking their suppliers to sign disclaimers to say that they do no use contaminated feed or they wont take their manure away. I have now telephoned Harrington Jessop direct and have been assured that the composted stable manure available from Country homes DOES NOT contained aminopyralid. Hope this is helpful to all of you. That's terrific to know, thanks for researching that.

Who are Country Gardens? Have they taken over Wyevales? (I don't use garden centres much, can you tell)

I think they must have taken over a few of them. Our was Wyevales for years but, puzzling as well, locally it is also called "Roots and Shoots" so presumably Wyevales must have taken them over originally.

When I couldn't find them on the net under Wyevales in Upminster I dug out the receipt for my purchases of last week and saw the name Country Homes and Gardens and traced them on the web that way.

They were very helpful and said they would telephoned their head office for me but when she eventually rang me she had also been in touch with Harrington and Jessop and been told the same thing ie that it was safe to use.

In fact, on the internet there was comment from Horse & Hounds, I think it was, regarding the disposal of their manure. Glad I got it sorted as I am going to get some to bulk/hearten up my new bit of veggi patch. Sanjo
