  • Baby Veg

I've seen baby veg for sale in the local shops. Are these easer to grow? I was thinking about them as I grow in containers all the time.

A lot of "baby" veg is just veg that has been picked early. I've had "baby" carrots, and "baby" beetroot recently - essentially the thinnings of the normal sized plants I'm growing.

However, I tried growing baby corn and as yet have not been able to harvest anything.

Still, it's going to be hot this week...

I tried a cauliflower called Igloo when I started and it turned out just about enough for one meal and tasted O.K. but not wonderful. Grew them at I think 20cm spacing. The small cabbage I tried was a Minicole which lasted very well and was tasty - at least everyone ate them without complaint.
