  • 40cm x 40cm square pots

I have been give 6 of these and they are self watering. Can I plant 2 tomoatoes or 2 cucumbers or 2 butternut squash in each? Seem overly generous for one plant!

Onlly having a small patio I would like to squeeze as much in as possible!

Be good for dwarf French beans too?

I wouldn't put more than one plant in each container - tomatoes are supposed to have 18 inches between plants for instance. You might squeeze a couple of basket type toms in one, but putting 2 of the others in would just reduce the yield so that you might be no better off than with one plant.

Is there anything other than tomatoes I could grow in multiples in this size pot?

You could grow a couple of tumbling toms in them, if you can fit 1-2 in 12" hanging baskets I'd have thought you could fit 2-3 in a pot. Don't forget to feed them regularly though.

You could also do carrots, peas (tall ones with canes or mange touts would give you a bigger crop), or lettuce.

Squash and cucumbers get big but you get more than one 'fruit' from them.
