  • 1 Day and counting......................

I thought I would title the theme of the thread a bit enigmatic so more people actually consider taking part this year but..........................IT'S only..................24 days till the.......Gardeners Rest opens for business.

Now, I expect that Nicos has already spent weeks spit and polishing the key and that GL will be less of a grump this year as his happy pills (sneakily hidden in his favourite biccies by me) will have taken affect.
I know that VC has the red wine tankers on standby and that LD has sorted out her best tango shoes for the okey cokey.
I also know that Rary's wallet will be as empty as normal and Cads slug souffle recipe still needs some work to make it presentable for the opening party.

    Now, the bad news..............................no PANTO!

Trigger our beloved panto horse won the euro lottery and has set himself up with a rare breeds stud farm. He was unavailable for comment on how much all the new foals had spots!

I was thinking about a Forums Got Talent/Strictly Grape Dancing or whatever VC decides could be a good voting poll.

Ideas please as the elves, gnomes, reindeer, fairies and baubles (I nearly put another word in but it sounded rude) are getting restless!

Is it enough to tempt Trigger back to the GR? We could fix it so that Trigger wins

Small Pumpkin - brilliant idea but do I have to be able to knit to enter? If so, would a festive holey squarish raggy thing do?

VC - Trigger was really hoping that the horsiratsi picture of him trying to run away from the demands of his female clients would not become well known. Unfortunately, due to exhaustion he is declining the invite to participate in the festivities of the Gardners Rest. However, his younger brothers are willing, at a cost, to undertake any duties deemed suitable (after elf and safety have said Yo Ho Ho)

Cad - oh yummy the taste of the orient. However, there are many Crim - boo traditionalists who would prefer that taste of a native slug to the fishy/hot/spicey etc aroma of the worlds cuisine.

I will leave that to you Doll. I have heard rumours that you have a very angelic voice.

A song that is festive, baldy (sorry I meant bawdy) and joyful would be good.
Teeth are optional. I still have a few but I'm working on getting a full set of fake nashers.

No knitting required lumpy. Should probably have a special category for the clever grapes that do knit there own.

Do we get paid for making suggestions?
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

^^^^^whilst searching the interweb for an edible recipe based on tomitillos.

SP - should we include a sock category?

Cad - Yoda would make a brilliant tree topper - do you think he would be interested?

Rary - now young Rary - rumour has it that your name is at the top of the paradise papers and that you have squirrelled your considerable fortune away in a bank in Middle Earth.
