Summer raspberry plant leaves turning a pale yellow with some brown patches. Problem?

Are they the old canes - the ones that have fruited this year?

No, the old fruited canes were removed a while back. These are all the ones that will hopefully fruit next year... Hopefully... !

If it's any help mine are doing exactly the same, can't tell you if they should be as it's first year theyve been planted but I just put it down to autumn and thought they'd go again come spring g.

Hi. Raspberries are deciduous - they lose their leaves in the autumn. So, if the leaves looked healthy until the last month or so, I really don't think you need to be concerned. In the spring they should produce new leaves, and then fruit. They benefit from a feed in the spring - I use blood, fish and bone.

Probably OK - may be worth watering on a weak solution of Epsom salts when they start growing again next year.

Glad to hear they are not looking to dodgy then.

I looked on line a few days ago and found a fair few diseases the symptoms of which were yellowing leaves. But then it is autumn, and that's what happens this time of year. So I was left feeling unsure.

nickdub - I did have epsom salts at the back of my mind funnily enough. Presumably they'd be no point in an application now?

Mine had this at times this year and from link below decided its either Magnesium or Iron Put both on and they definatly improved, leaves went back to light green from yellow but which it was Im not 100% sure but Magnesium is older leaves effected first so think it was that
As its late seaon now they may be shutting down for winter

Oddly mine are still going strong. Understand autumn but so are the summers producing fruit, but that presumes what I planted in march/april was what they said they sold me. But these days it seems differcult to tell summer and autumn apart up north so maybe thats thier problem

Has anyone tried Sanibelle that they say tolerate wet feet better than others ?
