  • Seeds for next year

I have just been reading the back of the packet for my seeds ready for next year and I am a bit confused about something.
It says sow indoors jan to Feb time..... could this be a greenhouse?
Sow outdoors..... is that if you are sowing into your actual garden?
    And plant out.....
could anyone explain. If I understand correctly and sow indoors isn’t the greenhouse but more likely to be your windowsill in kitchen then could sow outdoors be in the greenhouse?

Sow indoors usually means starting them off in a seed tray or modules indoors, be it in a greenhouse, your kitchen or airing cupboard. The seedlings are grown on to a size when they can be planted outdoors or in a greenhouse
Sow outdoors means direct sowing into the soil, either in the final growing position or into a seedling bed.
This is done later in the year when the soil has warmed up and outdoors temperatures are better.
It really depends on what seeds you are looking at and where you live, as to when you start seeds.

It does depend where you are. Found that Garden Focused has a good planner where you can set your location, pick generic plant types and it details approx dates for the garden tasks.

I used Garden Focused and then added to it, I'm in the process of reviewing what's in my seed box Alans Allotment: In My Seed Box and updating my sowing and planting schedule for 2018 Alans Allotment: Sowing & Planting Plan
