What are you reading? Fact or fiction - doesn't have to be gardening related
    Do you recommend it?
Should we buy it or should it go straight to the charity shop?

Share your views please. I love books

I read loads of crime novels...most books from authors like Ian Rankin, John Grisham etc but I came across a new author called Blake Pierce...again a murder/detective novel which I really liked. Went straight into the story from the first page. Once Gone is his first novel.
There are also novels by James Oswald a Scottish author, set in Edinburgh, again detective novels but with a bit of the supernatural thrown in.
The Shepherds Life by James Rebanks is all about his life on his farm in Cumbria...a good non fiction book.

ooh I love books - much like Jay my faves are crime novels - Dean Koontz and Lee Child are my absolute favourite, especially the Jack Reacher and Odd Thomas series'. And if you like Odd Thomas Mike Carey's Felix Castor series is a very good read.

I could genuinely list endless brilliant books.

I'm currently reading Gimson's Kings & Queens - a history of the brief lives of british monarchs since 1066. Not my usual fare, but I either had a terrible history teacher, or don't even remember being taught it. So far I'm really enjoying it but I'm only up to Henry II.

Next on my list is the Girl on the Train - I hate watching a film and then finding out its a book, so I need to crack on with it

Stories of peoples travels against the odds.
        Biographies.
True stories, and when I getvtired ofvthrm I go back to light reading.
        Sidney Sheldon...The BestLlaid Plans
        Sidney Sheldon...Rage of Angels.
        Judith Tebbit...A Long Walk Home.
        The Photographers Wife....Nick Alexander.
        Carol Drinkwater.
        Lesley Pearse.
        Jefrey Archer.
Marian Keys, her last book The Woman Who Stole my Life is actually very good.
I am currantly reading the book No Wall Too High about the first man to escape prison in China.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

At the moment I am reading a Lee Child, Jack Reacher novel easy reading, but enjoyable, I started Wilber Smith novel recently but just couldn't get into it and yet several years a go I enjoyed his books, I am thinking about re-reading either the Lord of The Rings or The Wheel of Time series

Currently reading a Val McDermid series Karen Pirie. Also have Larkrise to Candleford on the go. This was one of my set books at school so I decided to reread it. I read my sisters set book when I was in the sixth form and was so thankful I hadn't had it as a set book for exams, The Norwegian Bus about fishing boats during WWII. The boats, fishermen, fjords and villages had the same names. Enjoyable book but not one I'd like to answer questions on.

I also like Terry Pratchett, Harry Potter, Dickens, Lee Child, Nicci French, David Baldacci. In fact I love reading.

My favourite passtime always has been reading.
I have been a library member in various libriaries since I was 14.
I have a kindle but its just not the same as holding a book in your hand.

                    I love to read...

I'm a Terry Pratchett, Georgette Heyer and D L Sayers fan, but currently I'm binge reading Regency romances. Louise Allen or Grace Burrowes are auto-buys.

And the John Harrison allotment books. Repeatedly.

Been having a reading fest over the last few weeks. Read the infernal devices trilogy by Cassandra Clare which were alright but not good enough that I will read the mortal instruments books. Am currently reading days of blood and starlight by Laini Taylor am struggling to get into it but it is a follow on from daughter of smoke and bone which I would recommend. However I tend to like vamps, gods and monster type fiction so probably not to most peoples taste

Edit: It also tends to depend on what is lurking on the charity shop shelves.

I am not usually much of a reader but I really enjoyed Crosstitch (Outlander in American) I stupidly left the bit that I knew was going to be sad for a long train journey and cried all the way from Montluçon to Paris TV series is very good too.

I also enjoyed the time traveller's wife which was much better than the film.
