    If it is they've presumably gone now.

    Is it best to cut out the damaged dahlia shoot to encourage shoots from undamaged stems?Click image for larger version

    Hi Danny. Not sure about thrips but have you checked to see if the damage might be from earwigs.
    They also attack dahlias.

      Don't think it's earwigs. It's hit all the shoots on two large dahlias plus very large fuchsia genii. Strangely one dahlia unscathed!
