Can anyone tell me if I can take cuttings now from a neighbours Musk Rose?

    Best regards,

    Depends on whether they're looking!

Better taken in August and September, when this year's stems are a bit harder. Green soft stems might wilt before they have a chance to root.

Best time for any Rose cuttings is late summer or early autumn. This is the best time but you could try it now and it may well take. You will not be damaging the parent rose at all so why not try now and if unsuccessful try again in late summer/early autumn. Incidentally you could propagate it now by the method of layering which is particularly successful with musk roses, Bourbon and climbing roses.

The problem is that where we live there are only three houses. So my neighbour is going have some idea who the ’tea leaf‘ is. Either me or the other neighbour who is a Police Sargent!

          Greg

It'll be a real giveaway when they spot an identical muskrose in your garden

I'd just say that the Rose self-seeded. Must have carried on the wind!

Flatter your neighbour - how you absolutely adore her rose bush, how she must have green fingers, where on earth did she get such a beauty, how I wish I had such an eye catching bush. Then ......do you think I could try a cutting from that bush--oh would you mind. it's either that or stealth at night when all your neighbour's light have been out for an hour or so.
