Will a Massive rain storm like today hurt my crop as I just started sowing today , plus my herbs leaves seem to be in a bad way as there was hail stones

I have all my seedlings on a table in the garden. Keep forgetting to water them. It was bright and sunny today and the soil was looking bone dry so I watered them... as the forecast I checked said cloudy not rain. About an hour later, the heavens opened
Anyway, as soon as the rain stopped, I went out and covered the plants with a net curtain, to protect them. Cover them if you can.

Hailstones can be very destructive, but most plants recover, if not fully, then to some degree. If your herb leaves are only looking droopy rather than shredded, I imagine they'll be OK. Even if the leaves are shredded, most plants will put out more.
I'd have thought seeds would be OK but maybe those sown close to the surface will have got dislodged and maybe not come up where you were expecting. If you sowed seeds in pots, make sure they're not in standing water, as you don't want the soil so wet the seeds rot.Comment

Thanks Veggiechicken but we had some bad rain today and looks like some continual rain next week , Worried about my seeds and my herbs, Would you suggest not watering them in the weekend to throughly dry outComment

This is like asking how long is a piece of string! If you're concerned about plants in pots, just make sure that the pots can drain freely. That way, if they get too wet, it can drain through.
Plants in the ground will look after themselves.Comment

Tarragon. It's rain. It happens. I'm sure it's drained out the pots and that they aren't mini swamps as I am sure you have grit in the compost, so as long as the drainage holes aren't blocked the water will run out and hopefully the soils will be moist so you may not have to water them for a little while unless the weather gets hotter again.

Seeds and herbs will like rain. Just make sure the pots aren't sitting in saucers of standing water. Wish I'd sown my carrots because we've had perfect rain overnight...Comment

Snoop puss this was like a rain storm. Anyway I did put some seeds of asian herbs in Grape plastic fruit containers , this morning the sol was ultra soggy so I have now put it in the very hot conservatory , will the soil come back to what it was , as it feels kinda sludgy at the moment.Comment

Sludgy soil needs drainage not heat to dry it out.Comment

Plantrs appeared on earth about 450 million years ago, in that time it has rained a lot, hailed a lot, the odd earthquake and a few volcanic eruptions and they are still going strong.
They will be here long after we as a species disappear in to the fossil record.
Don't worry about them, every chance they enjoyed the rain. It is more natural to them then the chemical mix that comes out of the tap.Comment

As you know it stormed heavily on friday , I have done my best to dry out the pots but the soil seems a bit caked will a little water help it become less caked ,
What shall i do
