    Progress report!

    My first bed is finally complete, having been dug, dug and dug again - all ready for some nutrients to me mixed in and planting. It is lovely soil now its been cleared, hopefully will be well worth all the hard work.

    I thought it was time I shared some before and after pics!

    p.s. you can't tell from the after pic but the trees are also gone!

              That loos really neat and lovely. Be great to see it when you've planted things in. Digging up turf is a lot of work - my husband is sick to death of it after doing raised beds and the greenhouse base
              LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

                      Thanks all - at the moment, seeing as its the only bed dug its for everything! Looking forward to getting my toms planted out in there more than anything. Then it will be a case of filling the rest as best I can

                      My plan is to finish the adjoining border, which will be for perennials such as fruit and asparagus, then to heavily mulch the others and plant my squash through that - then dig them next year.

                      Urgent plan is to finish removing all the ivy as that is where my peas and beans are supposed to be going!

                        that looks really good, its a nice sense of achievement when all that hard work is finished and you see lovely fresh soil ready for planting, thats when the fun and enjoyment come.. Enjoy!!

                          Update!

                          Tomatoes are now in bed 1:

                          Still very scruffy all around them - but Rhubarb, volunteer potatoes, strawberries and a blackcurrant hiding in the background, with some CFB who will not climb.

                          Bed 2 has some very scruffy looking broad beans and peas - they've been in pots too long - I'm hoping they recover. Plus one Rhubarb who doesnt look happy either
