    bareroot strawberry plants

    Hi

    a few month back I bought some honeoye bare root strawberrys from wilko, however they have failed to materialise, could they make an appearance next year? or have they had their days?

    If they don't appear this year, they definitely won't next year!
    Dig one up and see if there are roots.

      funny enough I posted on here back in April about an amazing offer Wilko had on fruit plants, it turns out they all died I am gutted.

        I got some bare rooted strawberries from Suttons 2 weeks ago. When my husband saw them he was not impressed, They looked like a bunch of dead roots but I planted them. I have now got new leaves on all of them.

        I therefore think that if yours were going to grow they would have by now.

          Ive eventually got round to pulling a few out to check and the roots are still intact but no signs of life

            We got some from a Kitchen Garden mag offer and within a week we had new leaves on all of them and some have flowered now. Unfortunately you're might not have taken I had the same issue with those pound shop blueberry plants. Somethings really are too good to be true!

              bare root strawberries

              I have 5 bare root strawberries growing under netting, I planted these on the 1/4/17 but they have not come up as of yet, does it take along time for them to emerge.

              They are Elsanta and Selva and I got them from the pound shop and Wilkinsons

                I would have thought they'd have shown some sign of life. I wouldn't give up on them as they are quite hardy so fingers crossed may get some next year. If you need the space you could transplant them in pots.
