  • Too late for cosmos from seed?

I have some seed of new varieties that it didn't get round to sowing as I have been crazily busy, I just wanted them as they keep going until Spetember/October for me after most things have finished. But I realise this would be very late for sowing, what do you think? Is it too late? I could buy small plants instead but they won't be the new varieties.

Also, for white cosmos, I have cosmos 'Purity'. I will be growing it next to some tall Japanese anenomes so I wanted the tallest white cosmos, is this it or is there another option that I didn't find when searching?

Cosmos will grow and flower in late summer (August) from seed sown now. Actually I sowed some myself yesterday to take over when my first batch starts getting a bit tired.

My Purity grows taller than the mixed colour Cosmos that I grow - so think it must be the tallest.

I'm glad you asked that Briony, I've just sowed some too.

I've managed to kill most of my seedlings, so I'm sowing again now too.

They say 'time nor tide waits for no man' but it should be 'time nor garden'
