  • We have a family of bluetits!

As well as having our chook chicks....we have a family of newly hatched bluetits in our new nest box!

so glad we put it up on the side of the garage.

now we just need to keep an eye out for the magpie and crow which have very recently appeared in our garden

How long before they leave the nest?

Ha!...have you heard rumours about my photographic skills?
I'd probably manage a blurred photo of their feet!

Congratulations. I've got a family of Robins nesting on my plot but I'm not sure how many chicks and am unable to get pikkies as they're nesting in a difficult and dangerous area to access - inside shed number 2

We have two broods of bluetits. One in a hollowed out log nesting box that my father in law made a couple of years ago. This is the first time it's been inhabited. The second next is in the corner of a trailer designed to be towed behind the ride on mower! It's full of old cardboard boxes to go on the compost heap and to light the bonfire and they've managed to find a cosy corner... no idea how they are going to get out though as the top of the trailer is about 2 feet above the nest!

Pleased to report that the bluetits in the trailer have all flown the nest... ones in the log are about ready to go i reckon!
