  • Easter Bank Holiday plans?

    ....it's nearly here!
So....what's everyone up to this long weekend?
    any traditions?/days away?

when we both worked full time we used the long Easter break to sow all our seeds for the garden (pre allotment so they were flower seeds)

No fixed plans for us this year although we are having our Easter Day lamb feast tonight.
But, needless to say, some munching of choccie eggs will be required
I do like making chocolate cornflake nests each year
I will also get out my yellow serviettes and yellow candles and pick the last off the daffodils .

Friday I might just go and see if the plant nursery has any decent sized geraniums-We left it until May last year and they'd sold out!

so...what fun lies ahead for you?

    Mil has invited herself .
(Not an ordinary mother, not a mil /Dil issue ..just a strange woman)
She has invited herself as refuses to be on her own for one minute , plagues all her friends and extended relatives who are all fed up with her constantly inviting herself round to theirs.
She is very manipulating , obsessed by money, causes arguments between me and OH and laughs about it. She is suffocating following you everywhere, ratches around house including office, our bedroom when we arnt there.
Often we wonder if something cognitive is going on ..but she is so calculating it then doesn't fit.
We have spoken to gp who thinks its grief from fil passing last yr, yet she was on the hunt for a man just afterwards..and still is.
    Last yrs Christmas presents ..
Uncle ..hankies from their wedding day
OH ..hospital issue slipper socks issued to fil before he died
Me and other female relatives...some of her knickers she doesn't wear now

I will be on visiting my dad all weekend also, so il already be stressed.

    So..looking forward to this weekend

Yours sounds lovely Nic...can I come , please.

I have all the family coming round for a Lamb roast dinner on Friday (only day they're all available!) so I'll have the rest of the weekend free for gardening, if weather allows

No plans - I never make plans for anything, just go where the fancy takes me.
I'm one of those boring people who treats every day the same and celebrates whatever the day brings.
The only vaguely Easter related thing may be to look for yellow-stickered chocolate eggs on Tuesday.

Hope you all enjoy it whatever you do

Working good Friday. Nothing particular Saturday. Easter egg hunt and lunch with friends followed by visiting parents who are coming down in their caravan for a week. Monday work till mid afternoon then seeing parents.
                Another happy Nutter...

Going for a family dinner at my daughters tonight. After that I'm not going far from home. A really good friend's baby is due next week. As neither she nor her partner drive, I'm on standby to take them to the hospital. So apart from tomorrow's usual meet at the local, no drinking alcohol either.

So, gardening, paint my bedroom windows. I have some sewing that's been waiting for months. Or I might only do a bit of gardening and have a lazy weekend.

Purely weather dependant, like VC lets see what the day brings.

Well, I got out a leg of lamb from the freezer this morning to defrost.
I am working Saturday afternoon, but have no other plans for Easter.
So, should our Daughter make contact and visit during the holiday, there will be plenty of food to make a dinner.
If not, I will freeze it in portions when we get fed up with it.

Roast lamb on Sunday, with hopefully brother and SIL. Chocolate-fuelled craziness and games on Sunday, too.

Friday or Sat a castle Easter trail, maybe cinema trip. Lots of not going to work and wishing the 3yo & 6yo didn't get up at 6.30am....

Lots and lots of thanking God, my lucky stars, and any other positive influence that I get to grouse about when my kids get up at all.

A little bit of wishing I was at the plot...

Decide on a couple of places to visit. May take camera and pretend I have some idea what I am doing with one - which end do I look through?

Would go rock fishing but nothing within sensible reach of me.

Sometime wish I had bought more of a "bigger" vehical, so that I could spend a night in it campervan like. Just an overnighter option.

Off work for a week now! Lottie today moving scrap and building new beds.Might have a mooch to GC if its open and see if I can find any reduced plants worth renovating!I haven't sown any Jalapenos' and only have two that I've overwintered so will have to look for some plants.

My time over the next week will be taken up with trout fishing, (couple of outings at least) pulling the allotment into shape and renovating my retirement house. Have a leakky pipe under the floorboards to repair, so thats somethig to look forward to, NOT.

Didn't buy any fish for today so it looks like I'll be standing in the humungus queue at the local chippie for my trditional Good Friday, cod, chips and mushy peas later in the day.
