None of the above. Fasold early. An early bean and gives loads.

never had the goldfield yellow, blue lake are smaller round beans best pick aprox4inch long,
cobra is a bigger version of blue lake, and a bit softer,
cosse violette along with the other 2 are very frolific producers, the cosse does not seem to go stringy when ti's larger, plus they all 3 freeze well, without blanching, prepare wash and bag,as for taste they beautifull.
sigpicAnother nutter ,wife, mother, nan and nanan, love my growing places, seed collection and sharing, also one of these

I would just grow as many as possible. I like my French beans.

Cosse violette - purple - only grew it last year, lovely beans, produced well but found it quick to go over so succession planting is a good idea.
Cobra - green - no longer grow it as it is no where near consistant year on year.
            Goldfield - yellow - dunno
Blue Lake - green - will be trying this year as I have heard all good things.

Cosse violette cos it really doesn't get stringy if you don't manage to pick it when when it's skinny.

                    Hmmm,
grew blue lake last season and they were ( and still are ) lovely.Have another packet for this season but have contemplated trying cobra as have read good things. Now cosse Violet makes an appeareance, decisions decisions.
Ive also got several different kinds of dwarf beans of several colours i want to try, but will they cross?

^^^French beans can cross but it is highly unlikely.

Hunter - because flat beans are less squeaky

                          Thanks everybody for your input
I think i'll give Cosse Violette a go, will be good for picking as they will be more visible.
