    How's your garden growing?

    Well - the winter's nearly over and the spring flowers are blooming lovely here! My crocuses, primroses, daffies and especially the Hellebores are such a joy to see. Most of my roses are pruned, and several naughty dandelions have been dismissed! The raised beds in the veg garden have garlic, spring onions, shallots and rhubarb coming on nicely, potatoes chitting inside, and lots of onions yet to plant. Although the floor of my greenhouse has been under water I hope we have a dry spell so I can finally get in it and have a good sort out. Doesn't it all give you heart!
    I work very hard so please don't expect me to think as well!

    Spring has landed in my garden. The queen wasps, bumbles and odd honey bee are out. The autovent on gh2 has been working already. Birds scouting for nesting sites. My geese being violent and broody (the joy of spring ) Blossom coming thick and fast on the peaches, nectarines and apricot. Bulbs giving hits of bold colour and I am in a race to do the garden spring clean before the hairy bitter cress sets seed.

    But all in all its fantastic. Just hope it keeps moving in the right direction

      Lots of buds appearing, I suffer with scab on my apples and had to resort to spraying last year, which helped. The only stuff I spray/put on the garden, looks like I will need to do it this week, as I don't risk it once the bees are flying.

        Daffs, primroses, polyanthus and wallflowers in blossom. Buds starting to form on my plum tree.Rosemary covered in purple flowers. All good.

          My newly planted front garden looks a picture in cream, yellow and blue.

          Cream and purple crocus, the tail end of the snowdrops, blue iris, yellow and blue pansies interspersed with the sarcocca and miniature euonymus and yellow Mexican orange blossom. The cream tulips and narcissus are about to come out. The clematis are starting to climb the poles and one is coming in to flower.

          In the back garden the snowdrops are just going over and the crocus and miniature daffs are out as are the blue anenomies and primroses and primulas. All the clematis are starting to climb and the armandii are in flower. Narcisuss and tulips are poking through and the osmanthus, sarcocca and daphnes are adding their glorious scent to the world and my garden in particular.

          The garden is buzzing with big fat bumblebees, and robins, wrens and blackbirds are skittering around the garden much to the delight of my little granddaughter.

            My currants are starting to look good, the rests still kind of a mess hopefully the sun will hold out and I can get it mostly sorted this week.

            Other peoples blissful descriptions are panicking me slightly

              Panic ye not! There is still time for it to cover itself in all its glory. Norfolk Grey - our geese have just started - er - um - enjoying spring as it were, so we hope to have some results from their efforts later on!

                Here in the midwest it's cold and we got about an inch of snow last night. I did get some fruit trees pruned yesterday afternoon but with the cold wind my fingers got too cold even with gloves on. We've had nice weather and then this cold snap. Should warm up again in a few days. I can't begin turning over the soil until it thaws again. Might begin planting when April gets here. Last frost date is usually around May 12 or so.

                  My first spring in my new garden The old owners planted shrubs and bulbs everywhere (I've no idea what any of the shrubs are - at some point there will be questions!). I've never had space for either before so its lovely to see everything bursting into life.

                  I have a long gander out of the window on a wednesday (don't ask me why) and have a wander round each weekend - its amazing how much things change week to week.

                  Now I just need to find some time to actually get out there!!

                      Plenty of plants sprouting new growth and one of my Camelia buds is dying to flower, I just know it

                        I had my patio doors open yesterday, and I could hear a bumblebee buzzing.

                        It was in one of the daffodils in my vase of daffodils. Granddaughter and I watched entranced until the bee buzzed off back into the garden.

                        Louisa only has a few words at the moment but she told her mum and dad with wonderful signs, and dramatic pointing where the bee was hiding.
