I have a Zanussi Lindo300 which is run every day.
I clean the fluff thing every cycle but I've not seen any reports of them bursting into flames. -
Check where the water goes - my friend's condenses into a container inside the door & obligingly falls off & breaks fairly regularly.http://mudandgluts.com - growing fruit and veg in suburbiaComment

I've got a Siemens IQ300 it has a filter inside another filter so no fluff can get in the insides of the machine & you take both filters out to clean them. The fire risk machines just had the one filter & fluff could get in around the heating element,so a double filter like this is a help,I don't know if all machines are like it now? There's a drawer that pulls out of the top of the machine that collects water & it has a little filter in it that you can take out & clean.Location : EssexComment

I tried to post a couple of screenshots of some Which online reviews, but it won't work,
So I can tell you anything with the brand Bosch is highly rated, and anything with the brand Candy should be avoided.
What is clear from the review, is the higher the price the much better quality of the machine.
I'll try the pcs again later from a pic.

Same here burnie, we have a Hotpoint which has been repaired and is great. Clean the fluff every day and switch off at the mains after every use. The water is collected in a drawer in the main body of the machine. I would have no hesitation in buying another even given the problems they have had.sigpicComment

Beware that many brands are owned and made by the same people with little more than price and badge/model differences.
You do get what you pay for but as I said retailers have price points which products fit into. Pick your price point and choose the best one there.
I don't have a condensing dryer, I put my standard dryer in the 'garage' (well the car wouldn't fit) and vent to outside.Comment

Which Best Buys recommend Siemens WT45N200GB, Miele TDA 140 C, Bosch WTG86400GB, Bosch WTB86590GB White, Bosch WTB84200GB White, Zanussi ZDC8202P White, Siemens WT46E381GB Silver, and Miele T 4819 Ci White. Thanks. Which? Best Buys reviews are usually ok but their on-line customer comments from people who have bought a recommended product aren't always positive. Best thing to do is Goggle them and narrow this list down by either price or available colour depending which is the more important, so there is less to look at on other review sites as you can get so confused when you're reviewing several different products. Take the average of all the reviews then go for it.I work very hard so please don't expect me to think as well!Comment

Bought a Miele # 6 years ago. Used twice a day for 6 months of the year.
Excellent.
Easy to remove fluff. Highly recommended.
