    Poly tunnel open day!
Some of you may not know that Wapsbourne Manor Farm used to be a strawberry farm! We are currently doing some work clearing out the yard and now need to move on our HUGE stock of tunnels and irrigation piping.
Therefore if anyone knows a farm that needs to put up some tunnels, please tag them or ask them to get in touch. We will be selling them for next to nothing, so long as buyer collects.
Otherwise we will be looking for individuals who want to put up a tunnel somewhere to come and collect them in smaller quantities on an open day roughly 2 weeks away.
As in the below image we also have mounds and mounds of black irrigation piping that we will be giving away for free upon collection on the same open day.
If you are interested please email: camping@wowo.co.uk. We can then organise more details and sort out a collection date.

Bumping this in case you missed it yesterday! Wish I lived nearer but they're 191 miles away

I've emailed them - could be just what I need to sort out my fruit cage and at least it wouldn't rot like the wooden stakes. Thank you v much for posting!

They are waaaay too big for my tiny space. If I had my smallholding sorted it would be a different matter.

In case anyone's interested these are the details I was sent, minus the contact info:

Thank you for your quick response and interest in our poly tunnels and irrigation piping. The open day will be on 11th March between 10am - 2pm (subject to weather being ok). We will have a member of staff waiting at the yard to show you all where you can find the hoops and then to take some small amount of money off you!

So the main requirement for anyone coming is to bring suitably sized transport. We have measured the tunnels and we have two different types which are both different sizes:

Spanish tunnels = 7m wide + 2x 1m legs = 3m height - Selling price for £1 per pole and two legs (all made from galvanised steel)

French tunnels = 5m wide, kinked edges, straight to ground - Selling price £1 per pole (all made from galvanised steel)

Depending on what you have in mind, the below image shows a very long tunnel comprising of 40 poles.

          - Vehicle wise, you will need to bring a suitable trailer depending on which tunnel you will be buying. 6m at least for the french tunnels, and an 8-10m trailer for the spanish tunnels. Our neighbour and farm contractor Dave Barnard has a tractor and large trailer and can be contacted to arrange transport. He can serve a 15 mile radius (contact info removed).

          - The tunnels are also all piled up in our yard, which is grass, and may not be suitable to drive on on the day. They do have brambles growing over them where they currently sit, so bringing thick, heavy duty gloves to pull them out is essential, and some willing and able bodies also.

So please confirm whether you are interested and how many of each type you would like to come and pick up on March 11th. This will enable us to plan ahead and make sure there are enough to go around (we have hundreds of tunnels so don't worry!)

Finally the black irrigation piping will be there for the taking too, at very cheap prices.
Look forward to hearing back from you
