    VGA to HDMI Converter.

    Maybe a bit late in the day but I've ordered one of these so I can link my old lappy to the TV & wondered if anyone else had used one. It is currently connected VGA to VGA but the picture quality could be better.

    Can't help, I only clicked on this to see what on earth the title meant. Never needed to link a computer to a TV but know I'm old fashioned when it comes to these things

        I have one BM, use it to connect on older laptop the grandkids use, not the same as shown in the picture but to be honest it dosnt do a lot to improve the picture quality

            Surely the picture quality is going to be defined by the VGA output so connecting it using HDMI isn't going to make any difference.

            The only computers I connect to my TV are my Raspberry Pi's which are intended to connect to HDMI and work out the quality for themselves based upon reading the HDMI capabilities of the TV.

              It's a converter Mark so the analogue video/audio output from the VGA is converted to digital so the HDMI lead can carry the video/audio without me having to connect a separate audio from the lappy to the TV..

                I understand that but I you mentioned that your picture quality wasn't great so I assumed you were hoping the quality would be better. I'd be interested in knowing how you get on. I always assume that a conversion (of any sort) introduces noise and reduces quality.

                    Update.

                    Converter arrived today. Fitted and working as it should. I can't honestly say that there is a noticable diffence in picture quality but in my mind I am using digital instead of analog which has got to be an improvement. I did notice a difference in the settings, seemed to give me more options. Also it got rid of the additional speaker cable & the chunky VGA cable................so all in all I'm pleased with it.
